DESCRIPTION:Turtle Fest 2023 is quickly approaching! While we are still ironing out all the details\, we have a date set for our big event this year on June 3\, 2023 from 10am to 1pm with some additional activities in the morning at the beach. We would love if you joined us this year. We will partner with Edisto Chamber of Commerce again for the 2nd Turtle Tide Reveal\, and we will hold it at several locations: state park day-use beach\, Environmental Learning Center\, and the Edisto Civic Center. SUMMARY:First Day Hike 2023
DESCRIPTION:Start 2023 off on the right foot by joining park staff for a 3-mile walk on the beach! As we walk\, we’ll look for shells\, fossils\, artifacts\, birds\, and other beach treasures. The walk will take between 1 and 2 hours. Feel free to go at your own pace or walk with the group. \nMeeting Location: Outside of the park office\, which is the large white building between the beach parking lot and ocean \nThe hike is free with paid park admission. Items you might want to bring are water\, a hat\, sunglasses\, sunscreen\, insect repellent\, hiking shoes\, binoculars\, a camera\, and a bag or backpack in case you find some items that you’d like to keep. Make sure to dress for the weather!
