DESCRIPTION:We have an opportunity to help the park with trail maintenance on Wednesday\, May 8\, at 1:00 pm in the Live Oak area of the park. This project will consist of pruning vegetation that is threatening to overtake the trails. Volunteers will meet at the Spanish Mount trailhead parking area across from the Live Oak Ranger Station. Participants should be able to walk several miles. Otherwise this is not a very strenuous project. \nClosed toe shoes\, work gloves and appropriate clothing for early May are recommended along with insect repellent. We should be able to complete this project in about 2 hours.  If you can help\, please send an email to frespaceprojects@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:Volunteer for Sand Dune Fencing Project
DESCRIPTION:FRESPACE Members: We have a great opportunity to spend some time on the beach and assist the Edisto Beach State Park in installing sand fence. This fence will trap blowing sand to create new dunes. Previously installed fencing is proving to be an effective tool for dune restoration. \nThis will be a social event as much as a work detail\, meeting fellow FRESPACE members and getting to know park staff. \nInterested individuals should be able to do moderate physical activity. The park will provide ATVs to shuttle volunteers down the beach. Closed toe shoes\, work clothes\, gloves\, hat\, sunscreen\, and plenty of water are recommended. \nThe dates and times are Wednesdays April 13 and 20 between 1:30 am and 4:00 pm weather permitting. SUMMARY:Bache Monument and Bay Creek Trails Cleanup Volunteering
DESCRIPTION:Who would like to start off 2022 with a volunteer project to prune vegetation and clean up the Bache Monument and Bay Creek trails? The date is Monday\, January 10\, at 10:00 a.m. weather permitting. \nVolunteers will need appropriate outdoor clothing with closed toe footwear\, gloves\, sunscreen\, insect repellant\, and water. Any volunteers that wish to use their own hand pruners or loppers should bring them. Otherwise\, tools will be provided by the project coordinator and the park. This project will not be very strenuous\, will require walking a few miles\, and probably be completed by noon.
