The Edisto Beach State Park Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is putting out a call for fish and crustaceans to replace those released prior to Hurricane Michael. They need the following:
Freshwater Fish for the aquarium
- Striped bass
- Catfish
- Striped burrfish
- Black sea bass (2-3)
- Black drum (2)
- Croaker
- Pinfish
- Shrimp eel
Crustaceans for the touch tank
- Larger hermit crabs
- Stone crab
- Spider crab
- Horseshoe crab
If you catch any of these, please call the ELC at (843) 869-4430 to arrange delivery. The ELC is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If you catch something not on this list, please call the ELC to check if it is needed. You can tie up at the ELC dock and follow the path to the ELC, or you can call the above number and ELC staff will meet you on the dock.
