Seeking Volunteers
Just a few volunteer hours can make a difference! Share your time and talents with FRESPACE to support and enhance Edisto Beach State Park and the ACE Basin ELC. There are many volunteer areas to choose from:
Educational
- rove the ELC and answer questions that visitors ask
- assist with animal care
- lead tours and/or programs
- assist with school visits and field trips
- assist in the collection of educational material
- assist with annual Turtle Fest
Resource Management
- assist with environmental studies and projects to include:
- dune protection
- turtle night walks
- establishing riparian buffers
- establishing and maintaining landscaped areas and flora and fauna inventories
- Hole Patrol (walking day-use area of state park beach to pick up trash and level any abandoned holes or sandcastles)
Facility and Grounds Maintenance
- assist with landscaping and trail maintenance
- assist with exhibit and aquarium maintenance
- share your carpentry, electrical, or plumbing expertise for various projects
