We have another opportunity to spend some time on the beach and contribute our time and sweat to benefit Edisto Beach State Park. Volunteers are needed to install sand fence that will trap blowing sand and create new dunes. Previously installed fencing is proving to be an effective tool for dune restoration. If you are interested in helping, be advised that you should be able to walk several miles, do moderate physical activity as in, dig a post hole and hammer a fence staple. We will work in teams to lighten the load on all of us. Closed toe shoes, gloves, hat, sunscreen and plenty of water are recommended.
This project will take place next Monday, November 7, at 1:00 to about 3:30 p.m. Meet at the big white building in the day use area. If you can help, please contact the Project Coordinator, Ron Steele, by text at 843-603-2261 or email [email protected]. We are making a positive difference!
