In addition to the financial contributions Frespace makes to Edisto Beach State Park, Frespace members contribute their time to assist park staff with improvements to the park. This year members participated in seven separate events for a total of over 60-man hours. Members participated in the installation of 55 sand fence traps down the beach toward Jeremy’s Inlet. These traps promote redevelopment of the sand dunes and prevent future erosion. Members also participated in pruning the vegetation along the trails radiating out from the Live Oak Ranger station and assisted park staff with the assembly of 24 new picnic tables in the day use area.
