On Saturday, October 26, FRESPACE contributed one dozen volunteers to staff two of the three aid stations for the running portion of the Edisto Island Triathlon.
This was the first time FRESPACE has organized volunteers for this event. And while we were not sure of what to expect, we learned quickly that it was “All Hands On Deck” as runners came by. We handed them their choice of water, Gatorade, Gu gels, Coke and/or ice and got them back on their way as quickly as possible. Once the runners started coming by, we stayed very busy.
The consensus of the volunteers is that we should do this event again next year as it was a lot of fun and gave us good exposure in the community.
