There is now a Safe Zone for our Nesting Shorebirds at The Edisto Beach State Park. FRESPACE volunteers helped representatives of SCDNR and EBSP install over 90 posts with signs along the beach from the end of the campground to Jeremy Inlet.
These signs designate the dunes as a shorebird nesting area and prohibit entrance to the protected area. Any disturbance can harm the fragile nests of our shorebirds so please respect this safe zone.
